empty promises

i hate empty promises.
i guess most of us hate it.
why do ppl make promises which they cant keep?
why do they tell ppl ok when on the actual day or actual event they say - eh sorry lei, i think i cant.
if u r sick or family have issue i can understand.
but other den tat, its jus so not right.

sometimes scolding someone cause the person break his/her promise is really a waste of time. cause obviously they cant be bothered enough to break the promise.
since they cant be bothered den if i scold , they will just shrug it away.
this is jus FOS!
